ITINERARY

Day 1: Arusha to Miriakamba Hut
Your adventure begins with a drive to Arusha National Park, where you’ll meet your guide and register for the climb. A park ranger will accompany you through the scenic trail, which winds through lush rainforests teeming with wildlife, including giraffes, buffaloes, and monkeys. Enjoy the serenity of the wilderness as you ascend to Miriakamba Hut (2,514 m), your first overnight stop. A delicious meal and a peaceful night await you here.
After breakfast, the trek continues through changing landscapes, transitioning from forest to alpine meadows. The trail offers stunning views of Mount Meru’s crater and the towering Ash Cone. You’ll reach Saddle Hut (3,570 m) by early afternoon, allowing time to relax or take a short acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820 m). Enjoy a hearty dinner and rest well in preparation for your summit attempt.
Begin the summit climb in the early hours under a starlit sky. The trail is steep and challenging, but the experience of reaching Socialist Peak at sunrise is unparalleled. From the summit, marvel at the panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the Great Rift Valley, and the surrounding landscapes. After savoring the moment, descend back to Saddle Hut for a brief rest and lunch. Continue descending to Miriakamba Hut for your final overnight stay on the mountain.
On the final day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast before descending through the rainforest to Momella Gate. Along the way, soak in the last sights and sounds of Arusha National Park. At the gate, you’ll receive a certificate of accomplishment before being transferred back to Arusha, completing your incredible Mount Meru adventure.
