ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport

As you walk out of Kilimanjaro International Airport, your personal 12LEO SAFARIS guide greets you with a big smile: ‘Karibu Tanzania – welcome to Tanzania!’ The guide takes you straight to your hotel, where you can relax and take in the African atmosphere. The next day your guide takes you on an exclusive, private safari that allows you to travel at your own pace. Enjoy the luxury of your own safari jeep and take the liberty to stop and watch the animals as long as you like!

Today is a wonderful relaxing day, that you can spend in whatever way you like. Choose to spend the whole day at the lodge to enjoy the excellent service, sip on refreshing drinks, lounge near the pool, and just engulf yourself in the African vibes surrounding you. Or get to know Arusha through some interesting activities – go for example on a city tour, explore the outskirts of the city by mountain bike, or score your first souvenirs at an exhilarating Maasai market and beyond…

Today you will go for your first actual game drive, in Arusha National Park! This park close to Arusha is known for its abundance of tropical birds, the presence of the black and white Colobus monkey and some rare albino baboons. You will probably spot the Colobus monkey and some rare bird species such as the gorgeous Silvery Cheeked Hornbill, and, if you are very lucky, even an albino. The park also has a lake, a few craters, waterfalls, mountains, and beautiful grassy planes.

Today you can relax at your hotel to enjoy the friendly service, or go out and about through a activities .You can visit for example visit the beautiful Mount Meru waterfalls. A short hike leads you there, after which you can take a refreshing swim in the cold water beneath the waterfall. Have your lunch in these quiet surroundings amidst singing birds and meandering water and try and spot the amazing Colobus monkey or the Silvery Cheeked Hornbill on your way back!

Tarangire National Park is well known for its big groups of elephants and the huge amount of giant baobab trees. These trees can live for hundreds of years and are actually a source of water for elephants in the dry season as they have a special technique to draw water from them. Besides, the Tarangire River is the only source of water in the dry season, which is why in this season in Tarangire you can see groups of up to 250 elephants next to many more animals!

Serengeti National Park is widely known as the place to go on safari, mainly because of the Great Migration that passes through here. The enormous, stampeding herds are impressive, as are the vast number of predators that live here: over four thousand lions, 225 cheetahs, a thousand leopards, 3500 hyenas and hundreds of wild dogs! And of course, plenty of other beautiful animals, which your guide will be delighted to search for together with you. Are you ready for this?

The famous Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s seven natural wonders. The crater was formed two million years ago when a vast volcano erupted. The fertile lava has created a unique ecosystem, now home to the highest concentration of animals found anywhere in Africa! Once in the crater, thousands of animals such as lions, zebras, buffalos and black rhinos surround you, and the views are astounding – you won’t know where to look.

You’ll depart from the Farm of dreams after a satisfying breakfast, setting course for Lake Manyara National Park. This marks the commencement of your final game drive in Lake Manyara, promising an unforgettable spectacle of a flamingo group gracing the lake along with various other animals in their natural habitat. The park’s diverse ecosystems offer a captivating backdrop to observe wildlife thriving in their environment.

After lunch, you will head back to Arusha, where you will arrive in the late afternoon where you will take your flight to Zanzibar.

  • Morning: Arrive in Zanzibar and check into a hotel in Stone Town (e.g., Emerson Spice or Maru Maru Hotel).
  • Afternoon: Explore Stone Town’s rich history:
  • Visit the Old Fort, House of Wonders, and Freddie Mercury’s House.
  • Wander through Darajani Market and the narrow alleys.
  • Evening: Enjoy dinner at a rooftop restaurant, such as Emerson on Hurumzi, and admire the sunset.
  • Morning: Pick-up from your hotel and head to Fumba village.
  • Embark on the Safari Blue tour, exploring the beautiful Menai Bay Conservation Area.
  • Snorkel in vibrant coral reefs, relax on a sandbank, and swim in crystal-clear waters.
  • Lunch: Feast on a seafood BBQ with tropical fruits.
  • Afternoon: Sail on a traditional dhow, with opportunities to spot dolphins.
  • Evening: Return to Stone Town or transfer to a beach resort in Kendwa for the remainder of your stay.
  • Morning: Take a boat ride to Prison Island (Changuu Island).
  • Visit the historic prison ruins and interact with giant Aldabra tortoises.
  • Midday: Head to Nakupenda Sandbank for relaxation.
  • Enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and a fresh seafood lunch prepared on-site.
  • Afternoon: Return to Kendwa and unwind on the beach.
  • Evening: Have dinner at Kendwa Rocks Beach Restaurant, known for its vibrant beach vibes.
  • Morning: Visit a spice farm to discover Zanzibar’s aromatic treasures.
  • Learn about the cultivation of spices like cloves, cinnamon, and vanilla.
  • Taste fresh tropical fruits and enjoy a traditional Swahili lunch.
  • Afternoon: Return to Kendwa Beach for relaxation and water activities (e.g., kayaking or beach volleyball).
  • Evening: Enjoy the stunning sunset and dinner at a beachfront restaurant.
  • Morning: Spend your final hours relaxing on Kendwa Beach.
