ITINERARY

DAY 1 ARUSHA TO TARANGIRE

Safari guide will pick you from your hotel after breakfast. You will then drive to Tarangire National Park. This transit drive is approximately two hours on good tarmac roads. The park is named after the Tarangire River which runs through it. This ‘river of warthogs’ is the only source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season. The park is well known for its elephant families, which can often be seen congregating by the river. You may also see giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators, including lions and leopards. There are more breeding species of birds found in Tarangire than anywhere else on the planet! The huge and ancient baobab trees can be seen here. Some of them are said to have lived for more than a thousand years.

Lunch will be at a picnic site inside the park. After your game drive, you will transit to your accommodation at Motto Cottage

After breakfast, enjoy a game en route to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro. Afterwards, we will visit the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world, the Serengeti National Park. The word ‘Serengeti’ means ‘endless plains’, which describes the park’s 5,600 square mile boundary. For its sprawling area, the Serengeti does not disappoint when it comes to rich game-viewing. Annually, from May to December, millions of animals embark on a migration which brings them from central Serengeti to Kenya’s Masai Mara and back again in an incredible spectacle. Even during the ‘down-time’, vast herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle roam here, along with groups of elephant, giraffe, and buffalo. As the lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and jackals stalk their meals, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch in this open arena. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at Engiterata Adventure camp

Enjoy early morning game drives in Serengeti National Park then get back to the camp for breakfast and relaxation. Later, proceed for a full day game drive with picnic lunches. Dinner and your overnight stay are at Seronera Campsite.

The spectacle of predator versus prey dominates Tanzania’s greatest park. Golden-maned lion prides feast on the abundance of plain grazers. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while a high density of cheetahs prowls the southeastern plains. Almost uniquely, all three African jackal species occur here, alongside the spotted hyena and a host of more elusive small predators, ranging from the insectivorous aardwolf to the beautiful serval cat.

Have an early morning game drive Serengeti National Park, get back for breakfast and then proceed to Ngorongoro Crater with en-route game drives with picnic lunches. Later proceed Ngorongoro gate to Karatu Farm of dreams for dinner and your overnight stay.

The main feature of the Ngorongoro Conservation Authority is the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera. The crater, which formed when a large volcano exploded and collapsed on itself two to three million years ago, is 610 metres (2,000 feet) deep and its floor covers 260 square kilometres (100 square miles). Estimates of the height of the original volcano range from 4,500 to 5,800 metres (14,800 to 19,000 feet) high. The elevation of the crater floor is 1,800 metres (5,900 feet) above sea level.

Following breakfast, transfer to Lake Manyara National Park. There is a profusion of wildlife in this small national park and the amazing bird watching experience will certainly be rewarding to both a devote and first-time bird watcher.

It is among the few places on the African continent to see the tree-climbing lions that will be your main quest for the day. In addition, Manyara takes pride in its large flock of beautiful pink flamingoes found near the lake. You will have lunch at the picnic site.
